"Dear BBB,
SQ1 promised to cut my debt in half. They required that I give them a portion of money that was to be used to settle my debts. This started in November 2009 where they deducted 732.42 every month. They instructed me to save approximately 200.00 on my own. It was my understanding this company would be communicating closely with these creditors. They did not. Upon my own research they had not even started calling these companies. Two of my creditors sent me letters from their lawyers one for 30.000.00 and another for 16,000.00. They both threatened me with garnishing my wages. 3662.10 I have paid in total to SQ1. I then spoke to a lawyer (he did not charge me) and he stated I could do this all on my own. He also told me to run away from this company as fast as I can because it appears that the credit card companies will garnish my wages. I started calling the creditors directly and they set up some affordable plans for me, except one, Bank of America. Bank of America had to either settle the account with me immediately or I had to file for bankruptcy. I called SQ1 to please get a refund so I could use these funds to pay my credit card. They tried to talk me into staying with SQ1. I called two additional times, they promised to get back to me with my request and they did not. I do not want other families to become victims of this program. And I realized that all the credit card companies have offered settlement programs with my personally after I get my account current. I need my money back and I need the BBB to let others know what they offer, the consumer can do on their own. Please do not get ripped off."
